Retrace Lord Baden Powells foot steps......
..you can retrace Baden Powells foot steps as the campers marched from Fourstones Railway station to the site of the worlds first official Scout Camp in 1908.
The Newcastle Upon Tyne Central District Scout Fellowship, invite you to take part in the Baden Powell Walk from Fourstones to the Lookwide Campsite, following in Baden Powells footsteps to the original site of the first Scout Camp in 1908, which lies in the County of Northumberland.
The walk starts at Fourstones (O.S. Map 87),map reference 888 678 and finishes at the cairn (O.S. Map 87), map reference 885 697. The walk is approx Three miles each way and regrettably has to be walked mainly on roads. If preferred the walk can be undertaken first, then contact made with Scout house. When at the cairn perhaps you would like to reaffirm your promise and hopefully take a photo, of which we would like a copy to include in our photo album so we can cross reference it with your visit.
